Default What do you get out of hydra farming?

I was just wondering why people hydra farm in the desert. I've tried it and haven't had much luck with drops. So I was just wondering if they were farmed for what I'm actually getting or if they drop golds/purps or something else. Thanks for any info.

If you farm enought Hydras a Hydra Mini-Pet will drop for you

No, just kidding. The gold revenue for farming them was quite good (gold/time), don't know what the income rate is now as I haven't been there for a long time.

I usually make about 3k when farming hydras. They don't drop alot of golds...occasionally a couple purples though. I did do a run once and got 3 different gold drops (a flamberge and 2 staffs).

the occasional gold, the occasional dye, junk to sell to merch, experience points, and hydra claws (which salvage into scales - which went up in price/demand a bit with factions) is what im used to.

and a good bit of revenge against those critters that kicked your arse with meteor first time you ever tried to get by em (lol, at least i know they whooped mine a bit).

with my 55, i just head out of augury, hit all the hydras right out there, then head toward the griffin spot (directly south of augury) and hit them.. i will usually manage 2-5k depending on if there is a chest and what drops i get.

[QUOTE=Havelock]If you farm enought Hydras a Hydra Mini-Pet will drop for you QUOTE]

FYI mini-pets are rewarded to accounts that have been playing for at least 1 year

also you can get some decent ele stuff farming hydras i have gotten 3 gold +12 energy flame artifacts in 1 run i forget the specific mods but i sold them for 2k each and also hydra farming is good for new farmers to train themeslves its also great for 55's to try some new build variations on because hydras dont take as much as mountain trolls to kill so you can try stuff out on new builds its great if ur writing builds (i do this personally) because they cast spells and there melee so if your writing a build by hydra farming you know u can handel damage ele attacks and melee

P.s. Sry for long reply

You might want to re-read his post because in the next line he said "No,Just kidding" :/

Anyway I personally don't care for hydra farming its too slow-pace for me. Probaly because all I did was 8hp solo griffon build b4 AoE nerf --that was some intense farming that was kick-ass beautiful.

prenerf was beautiful

20k/hr was always good fun before AoE nerf

the normal crap I guess...most of all time straight to merch ! tho I always unid the bleu ones, they often give nice materials when highly salvageble ( 4 steel ignots ftw )

I don't farm them often...isn't extreme profitable...I'd rather farm trolls and hope for a 15^50 fell, or maybe even a dwarven axe ( these get dropped in shiverpeak ? right ? so trolls can drop them to I suppose )

Meteorshower still works....

back in the old days, after nerfing all the good 55 skills i got around 30k an hour, gold dropps, selling the hydra claws for 80g each, materials....

I can't get the Mountain Trolls in Talus Chute to drop any fellblades or anything. The only thing they seem to like to drop are raven staffs and mountain troll tusks.
